Hello Readers! Now that I have your attention welcome to another installment of Eyewear Talk. I have recently returned from my annual trip to Tennessee. I truly love my trips down south. I go with a group of friends and we enjoy yourselves on my friend Mark’s family farm halfway between Nashville and Knoxville. We make a stop in Louisville, Kentucky on our way down to enjoy the nightlife and food. Besides the comradery we are there to shoot at things like targets, bowling pins and pieces or random metal swinging from trees in the back of the pasture. Don’t worry never animals. Today’s eyewear trends seem to focus greatly on vintage and classic themes. I have found many photographs of Dean in very chic eyeglasses and sunglasses. But be aware James Dean didn’t just wear frames for the look. He was terribly near-sighted and wore them between takes on the sets of his movies.

In my opinion it’s his epicene aura which causes men and women alike to be beguiled with him. He is also celebrated for his impulsive and emotional acting style. Dean loved reading, dance and had a successful stint on Broadway. Like all great legends he has been the subject of gossip and controversy.  In fact …

The fall season is here and the weather is still warm. As the leaves change and the days get shorter let us not forget that sunglasses are still a vital part of your sun protection and fashion accessories.  On your evening drive home after work it appears the sun may beam directly in your face if you head west. In the Northern Hemisphere, the sun is rising later now, and nightfall comes sooner. This is our autumn equinox, when the days are getting shorter in the Northern Hemisphere. At this equinox, day and night are approximately equal in length. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, people are enjoying the cooler days of autumn even as preparations for winter are underway. All around us, trees and plants are ending this year’s cycle of growth. Perhaps they are responding with glorious autumn leaves, or a last burst of bloom before winter arrives. Bottom line is you still need your sunglasses. Some say even more than usual.

One of my favorite television characters is Morticia Addams from the Addams Family. This short ran television series (1964-1966) is based on the spooky, ooky and kooky comic strip family by Charles Addams. It …
