A customer of ours placed an order for the Serengeti Nunzio Sunglasses and did something incredible. In retail you can expect everyone to have time to leave negative feedback but few people make time to say something nice. Well today I received a wonderful assessment about Serengeti Sunglasses from this long time satisfied wearer.

“I didn’t know where to put this message but here. I bought a pair of Serengeti sun glasses, I believe they are called driving glasses, but don’t remember, as I bought them about 25-30 years ago, and I still have them in like new condition, I even have the original case they came in. I believe these are the best sun glasses I have ever owned, and being almost 71 years of age I think I have had a few pairs of sunglasses. I just thought it was an interesting story.”

Started in 1984 by Corning, Serengeti had a vision and never looked back. The brand was later acquired by Bushnell and has achieved worldwide notoriety. Many celebrities from TV, film and sports have donned this classic brand. Even Pope Benedict XVI has been seen wearing Serengeti’s Classic model sunglasses. Serengeti sunglasses feature unparalleled attention to …

AO Sunglasses can brag a history since 1826 here in the United States of America.  Prior to this time, optical frames and lenses were imported from Europe, mainly from France, Germany and England.  Metal frames were also produced by local jewelry manufacturers as well as other specialty metal workers.  This means of course it was up to private supply and demand and everyone had their own custom made frame. It all started when William Beecher said to himself when looking at imported eyeglasses “I can do it better,” and he went to work.

During World War I Two white metal frames, “Liberty” and “Victory” were put to service in the field. A Record of two and one-half million glasses were furnished to the US Government for the war effort. During WWII, AO had again come to the forefront with new optical products developed by their research laboratories.  This development work allowed AO to supply the US Government with new products including gun sights, bombsights, AR glass, aviation goggles, sunglasses and precision optics for military and instrument applications. Between 1943 and 1944, a total of 10 million goggles frames, 5 million pairs of sunglasses and over 6.5 million pairs of lenses …

The Chicago Pride Celebration has grown to be one the largest and most well-known Pride events held in the world. Pride has come to symbolize several things: the long history of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer dignity, the freedom of all people to meaningfully and proudly express their sexual and gender identities, and the commitment of LGBT people to combating oppression.

This year I had a chance to go to the 44th Annual Pride Parade in Chicago. This was my third time going and this year had a record number of attendees. More than 1 million people attended Chicago’s Pride Parade. Historically takes place the final weekend in June of each year. I was carried away in the surge of excitement and a current of marching bands blasting their joyous refrains. Because I get to work with a lot of great eyewear and sunglasses brands I was not surprised how many people were wearing Ray-Ban Sunglasses especially the many variations of Ray-Ban Wayfarers like the Original Wayfarer, the New Wayfarer, the Square Wayfarer and the Folding Wayfarers in Sunglasses and many others. My heart was further warmed when I recalled that Ray-Ban has used …

For all of you that have been following my posts, I’m sure you know by now that I have a very unhealthy relationship with the Aviator Style Frames.  I currently own WAY too many, if you would like a terrifying example, take a look at my current list of frames:

My first pair ever and the beginning of this terrible obsession was the Ray-Ban RB3407 Rainbow Outdoorsman II.  My goodness this frame has a beautiful Glass Gradient Rose Lens with a flash of Silver Mirror that I immediately fell in love with.  After that I needed something a little more practical that I could wear on a day to day basis.  Therefore, I had purchased the Serengeti Medium Aviator 7109 and let me tell you, I instantly fell in love.  The dark Photochromatic 555NM lens was absolutely perfect for just about every application. Now, I own this beautiful pair of Ray-Bans for special occasions and just purchased a gorgeous pair of Serengeti’s for my more “every day” wearing; now I have to get a pair that compliments my features.  I am definitely a red head, so I needed a pair of gold frames, so I splurged on …
