I had a chance to sit down and talk to the President of OpticsPlanet Inc last week. We spoke about our company and the excitement of our future. He shared that he is most proud of OpticsPlanet for the growth in the past 11 years and the strong sense of Team that we have. He takes a lot of pride in watching us turn into a “real company”. He agrees that the only thing constant is change and one must learn to adapt to survive.
Our conversation then moved to eyewear, something he gets excited about. Pavel takes a very active interest in our department. He seems to be the ideal OpticsPlanet Sunglasses customer. With sensitive eyes he values and understands that you get what you pay for when it comes to sunglasses. He owns Julbo’s, Maui Jims and Serengeti brands. The Serengeti Driver’s lens is amongst his favorite lenses to wear. He has challenged the Eyewear Group in search for the best frame for him. Pavel prefers a hinge-less frame like the Maui Jim Little Beach Prescription Sunglasses. Like many customers he wants the frame to be lightweight and feeling like it’s not there.
Pavel loves to drive fast and he is never without sun protection. I was very impressed how active Pavel is. He works out, plays volleyball, basketball and soccer. Sometimes he gets hit in the face and that’s why a good sturdy frame and strong shatter resistant lenses are essential. Although a lightweight frame is needed for less aggressive activities he looks to a good pair Wiley-X Sunglasses with their ANSI ratings for safety. I wasn’t surprised when the President told me no matter what he does he always has a spare set of sunglasses with him, even on vacation. Pavel regaled me with stories of trips to Colorado, Florida, Costa Rica, Mexico and Peru. He is truly the definition of a jetsetter! It was really cool to see him get excited sharing his memorable experience in a hot air balloon. Spending a half hour with this extremely busy man was an honor and a privilege.
I realize not everyone can have several pairs of sunglasses but we should all consider getting at least one quality pair. Think of it as an investment! If we can get a guy like Pavel into great authentic shades that meet his lifestyle needs think what we can do for you!
