Walking With Confidence

Tuesday, August 31st, 2010

Make everyone stare at you.

Emma Stone portrays a very risqué role in the new upcoming film called “Easy A.” Her style in this movie playing a high school student makes her even more likable. You see her walking down a hallway wearing a black corset like dress embroidered with a letter ‘A.’

She is also wearing these great sunglasses that compliment almost everyone’s face. The star is wearing what is known as the Ray-Ban Wayfarer. This is one of Ray-Ban’s most popular models of sunglasses that have been around for decades.

Since the early 1950s we have been graced by a popular model from Ray-Ban that has been so versatile to the fashion world. By simply implementing different colors and designs it has kept its popularity.

Do you require a prescription? These frames will compliment a prescription for those that require one, which makes them that much more attainable. You can verify with our Eyewear Specialists over at OpticsPlanet.com if you feel that your prescription will not work. Â You can also reach us at 800-504-5897 and select option number 5.

The specific ones that we believe she is wearing are the Ray-Ban New Wayfarer Sunglasses RB 2132 in the black frame with a gray lens. That is only one of combinations available in this style.

Be sure to check these out and with confidence we can say we know you will make the same impression Emma Stone makes in her new movie.

You get what you pay for

It’s summer. There are street fairs, festivals, gas stations and even kiosks at the mall. They all have something in common. They are trying to sell you sunglasses for 5 dollars or 3 for 10. Last week I even heard a man yelling “buy one get 2 free”. I actually laughed out loud. I try not to be a snob so I walked over and took a look at his wares. I saw many a Ray-Ban and Prada sunglasses knock-offs.

I used to tell myself that I didn’t deserve expensive sunglasses because I lose them or I break them. Then I stopped and thought; if I spend a lot for a good pair of sunglasses I will take care of them.

There is so much to consider when buying sunglasses. Look for authenticity if you are into brand names. Most authorized retailers should have a card or warranty information to prove the products legitimacy. Consider the technology of the lenses as well. Whether you are an intense sportsmen that needs a fog-proof lens or a fisherman that would like to get polarized lenses. Maybe you just want a lens that will adjust to the constant light changes even behind the windshield of your car. We only have 2 eyes and protection is the key. There are better materials the can even withstand high velocity particles. Frames have even come a long way. Some frames have shock absorption and some can even be twisted without breaking. It’s about features and benefits. Consider Julbo, Wiley-X and 7Eye sunglasses just to name a few. All this can be done but it’s worth more than 5 dollars.

Treat yourself. Buy a pair of good sunglasses and you will see the difference. If you don’t believe me try a friends on, if they will let you.

We want to help you find the perfect Sunglasses

Sunglasses aren’t just for looking fly, but also provide necessary UV protection to protect your eyes and skin from the sun. Whether you need prescription sunglasses or just off the rack sunglasses, choosing the right sunglasses can keep your eyes healthy.

Sunglasses are definitely important for sun protection and the eye health; they are also a fashion statement. Your sunglasses should not only be comfortable and stylish, but they should also be flattering to your face. You can order from online companies that offer hassle free return policies or you can even make a stop by the optical shop, look at various styles and shop for your sunglasses. Once you find the perfect fit you will be able to order your prescription sunglasses without any worry.

Some experts suggest that your frames should contrast with the shape of your face. If your face is very angular, select rounder frames for your sunglasses, and if you have a round face, a more angular frame will be more flattering. Your frame size should be in scale with your face size. Avoid very large sunglasses if you have a very small face, and vice-versa. Select frame and lens colors that flatter your complexion. Warmer skin tones will be better suited by warm tones, like gold, bronze, brown and tortoiseshell. Cooler skin tones will be more flattered by sunglasses in shades of silver, gray or blue.opplanet-smith-optics-breakbeat-sunglasses-tortoise-frame-brown-lense.jpg

I feel technology is often times more important than brand or style. Certain brands raise the bar and they combine style, protection and a famous name. I have a large head so large lenses is what I look for. Not only that; I want polarized lenses that block harsh glare. Light bounces off object such as roads, cars and water. The filter in polarized lenses blocks this type of intense reflected light, reducing glare. AR coating is a very advanced feature to look for. Anti-reflective coating (also called AR coating or anti-glare coating) improves both your vision through your lenses and the appearance of your glasses. AR coating is applied to the backside of the lens and will prevent that mirror image of your eyes you often see in very dark sunglasses. It’s actually several layers of metal oxides applied to the lens surfaces. Depending on your interest’s hobbies and the sport usage of your sunglasses, the color is very important. I have gray for the bright days, gray or green are the darkest lens available. Brown is great for medium to low light. Orange, yellow and rust lenses are perfect for contrast and highlighting on cloudy days. So many colors for so many applications.
